Last Wednesday my BFF, Amy, was in town from Ohio…here for work, didn’t detour us from getting together for some afterhour fun.
We met up for dinner in the West Village.
Being more of an East Sider, or even a Brooklynite at that, I rarely venture west unless its to work.
So I was completely at a loss for where to eat when it came time for me to choose our dinner spot. Luckily a friend at work suggested COWGIRL. And by “lucky” do I mean LUCKY!!!
This place is sooooooooooooooooooo perfect for me! I had a most delicious veggie burger and fries, washed down with 2 manhattan (by way of KY) naturally, and then some delicious rock candy that Amy treated me to from their General Store afterwards.
The restaurant itself is decked out with cowgirl kitcsh. From vintage wall art, animal skulls of the southwest..and the food was delicious. So what’s not to love??
Next time I’m at a loss in the West Village, I know where I’ll be finding myself :)
On a side note: I felt the need to ramble about my childhood trip to Squire Boone Caverns because the rockcandy reminded me of that. As I talked and talked, the lady working the counter said “funny, this rock candy IS from Squire Boone”…hahahah not sure if it was a coincidence or if its actually really shipped in from the caverns in southern Indiana. yay hoosiers!
Finally a science behind why my 65 calorie drink of choice seems to do a real # on me, when the rest of the gang seems fine.

This is seriously the best drink ever…ginger beer refreshes the liver, trust me.
Ok so not so much the liver, but it definitely refreshes the soul after a long hard week of work. It doesn’t even taste like alcohol.
Next time I plan to throw in a splash of something or other…apple cider? whiskey? both?

Finally captured a shot of us both with my one hand. Only took 6 tries.
And now time to finish up my to-go margarita with my good pal DINAH!
You know, I do love a good manhattan…or something of the similar sort. It’s Friday!!
