It’s been about 6 weeks since I’ve been using that tube of Garnier’s BB cream I mentioned buying (HERE).

And so I’ve formulated an opinion about it.  I think the product works, somewhat, but not to an outstanding measure.  I did not expect profound results, since this item is easily purchased at your neighborhood drugstore’s cosmetic aisle.  But, I wasn’t opposed to something amazing happening either…a sweet surprise for an affordable item is always nice, right?

Mostly, I was hoping it would cover the sunspots (let’s call them what they are: UGLY BROWN SPLOTCHES, probably caused by many childhood and teen years spent outdoors without sun protection…ah, to be a child of the 80s).  But I was promised it would do more-even skin tone, make me “radiate”, and whatever other claims these types of products say they’ll do.

I’ll admit, I did feel more “glow-y” and “even” after I’d finish my daily routine which consisted of:

  • starting with a clean face (pic #1-EEEEK! no make-up),
  • then applying BB Cream (pic #2),
  • then applying a face full of makeup (pic #3),
  • and then finishing my hair and getting dressed (pic #4…hey there you lil’ TART)!

However, those brown spots never fully disappeared.  They may have been concealed about 15% moreso than when I had not yet purchased BB cream, but they’re still THERE!  And visible if you know what to look for!

With that being said, I don’t have negative thoughts about Garnier’s BB Cream, I do think it has its benefits.  But, I think its time I move on and try Olay’s CC cream—that’s right, there’s now a CC cream on the market!  (CC meaning “Color Correcting”…meaning BROWN SPOTS BE GONE!)  Plus, this CC Cream I mention is within the same line of Olay products that I already use…so perhaps it’ll have better results.  Although what results I’m looking for other than concealing these brown spots, I’m not sure.

So folks, I will not be purchasing another tube of Garnier’s BB Cream, but I recommend it if you want a slight enhancement of skin color, a nice more even finish to your tone, and just an overall “glow” that often comes with a tinted moisturizer or a few minutes everyday spent in the summer sun.

As soon as I’m finished with this tube (it seems to last FOREVER), in about 6 more weeks, I’ll be off to purchase some CC Cream, and I’ll follow up then!

Anyone ever tried this crap? I got a freebie on the street and am having images of heart palpitations.
But today…I’m going to take a swig.
See, the thing is, I need some energy.  I’ve been so tired lately that I can’t seem to do anything after 9pm…can’t watch a movie without falling asleep within 10minutes, can’t hang out with the boyfriend past 11pm, can’t make it home on the subway without dozing off for a few…really what gives?
I already have a pretty healthy lifestyle, I go to the gym 2-3x/week…do 30min of cardio and then lift weights and do crunches.  I eat healthy, throwing in the occasional sweet, but rarely.  And, I make sure I get 7-8hrs of sleep per night…yet I’m never fully rested when 9pm rolls around the following evening.
It’s annoying, it really cramps my lifestyle…and actually I blame it all on my near great health + living.  I’ve conditioned myself to come to expect 8hrs of sleep, to eat right, and this or that, and look what its done to me…its put me in an old lady routine that has me knocked out asleep by midnight at the latest (even on weekends! gah!).
So….minus the fact these things scare me slightly, I’m going to give this a try after work.  Afterall its Friday, I should go out and do something rather than snooze my life away.  Right?
I’ll report back if I have jitters, crankiness, and over-active caffeine reactions of an ill sort.
If you don’t hear back from me, lets assume I found a new energy booster—ewww I don’t want to like what this might do.
